As with the pool, without proper upkeep and love, the dogs become completely unmanagable.  Having 3 uncontrolled border collies will cause a dog owner to go crazy and hate their dogs.  This is why many high maintaince animals are given up. As time goes on, I have forgotten that owning such dogs takes alot of time and patience.  With our hectic schedules, I have left the dogs go on the wayside and we all are suffering.  I feel like I need the Dog Whisperer but honestly, I just need to spend more time with them.

Starting today, my pups have to be a priority again. After bringing out the treats and doing a few simple commands aka working them, I was reminded what wonderful dogs they really are.  I was reminded quickly how smart Piper is, yet very defiant…in a cute-only-a-mother-could-love sorta way.  I remembered that JJ only wants to please me. She’s simple.  And Lukas, just wants to be loved and played with.  They’re not that difficult to manage.  As a family, we all need to see the beauty in our wonderful dogs again and give them the time and attention we vowed when we rescued them. 

I love my dogs!

While browsing facebook this morning, I come across a poll on suggestions that would make Ahwatukee better.  While I do think some retail would be good, is that really what is going to improve our community?  I believe several restaurants have been suggested including more fast food joints.  Because that will make our community better???  Hmmm…what about batting cages, a bowling alley, I even suggested an entertainment complex, a gun club, etc…  Or better yet, a co-op farm.  Clearly, the community wouldn’t go for that but when someone is asking what will make the community better…the last thing I think of is more retail outlets when we already have so much.   The retail options would simply add a convenience but not improve the area.  They would create more jobs, but so would other options.  What would you do to improve your community???

Karen and crew spent the night in Brinkley, AR at the EconoLodge.  The drove for 12 hours, and everyone was wore out, including the dogs.

Update 14 - From Karen - Pee break before leaving EconoLodge.  Piper growled at 2 people for us… good piper!  Southern hospitality is the best. I was offered a free water from a stranger in Brinkley.

Update 15 - From Shade - Tennessee!

Update 16 - From Karen - [Shade sleeping in the back.]   3rd argument from kids… spilled water lol… lasted 30 secs.
